Summary
Credit scores play an increasingly important role in consumers' lives. Not only are they used to determine whether or not an individual has access to consumer credit and at what price; they also influence the price of insurance, the ability to rent an apartment, and the hiring decisions of employers, among other things. There are new means of credit scoring in development that can help underserved consumers enter the mainstream American credit market.
